Picnic in the Park – a day to remember.
Picnic in the Park returned to Adelaide to mark the end of the 2022 Feast Festival. And what a day it was and what a way to finish!! This year for the first time it was held in Rundle Park and it had everything……market stalls, community information stalls, the sports hub as well as a variety of cuisines from local food vendors and cool beverages from local brewers, a winery and a distillery.
The famous Feast Dog show was back and there were lots of dogs of all breeds, ages, shapes and sizes (including my little lad ‘Mack’). I did enter him in the ‘Best Puppy under 12 months category’ but he didn’t win. 😢
A new addition to Picnic this year was the Tattoo Parade. Wow!! Some of the tattoos displayed were amazing. Well done to those people and dogs who won in their categories for the Dog show and the Tattoo Parade and to everyone else who participated.
There was also an exclusive ‘meet and greet’ with Josh Cavallo from Adelaide United. He was kept very busy with people coming up to chat or have a photo with him. What a beautiful human he is.
Our Rainbow Crows marquee was also very busy. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help on the day. We had many people come and say hello or purchase an item of clothing, a footy, a flag or a membership.
Within the sports hub were Adelaide United, Rainbow Crows, Port Adelaide Queer Squad and others. We caught up with some of the Port Queer Squad at the end of the day and shared some friendly conversation and even a photo or two. Yes, it’s true! We may be rivals on the football field but we are all one off it.
The atmosphere, the camaraderie, the friendship and the love were all on display at the Picnic and at the end of the day it was plain to see that……
PS. Can’t wait for next year!
LOVE WINS!
